Tips for getting the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Surfside Suite Sanctuary: By the Shore Delight has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
