Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental:
- First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Breezy Hutt~ Complimentary golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
