Booking the best rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Breezy Hutt~ Complimentary golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
