Getting the best vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Charming 2Bed\/2Bath Condo Surfside Beach 50% Discount for Winter Monthly Rentals has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
