Rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfectrental home:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Charming 3BR\/2BA Condo at Sand Dunes Resort - Your Myrtle Beach Oasis! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
