Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Cherry Moon -a charming 2-bedroom condo with WiFi, AC in welcoming Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
