Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Classic Beach Escape 1bd\/1ba Condo with Ocean VIew has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
