Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Close2Beach and Activities! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
