Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the bestrental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Coast Comfort Queen Efficiency 16th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
