Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Coast Comfort Queen Efficiency 16th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
