How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
