Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To start, have your family select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Coastal Oasis - A110 at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your trip.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
