Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Coastal Serenity Spacious Suite with View 12th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
