Our top Vacation rental tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beachside Delight Suite with Views 14th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
