Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Come relax at the Cocktail Hour! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
