Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Peaceful Paradise 2BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
