Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Comfortable 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Condo, 2 Blocks from the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
