Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Comfy Beach Escape, King Bed, SMART TV's, 2ppl has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
