Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Gem: Stylish Condo with Ocean Views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
