Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Completely Renovated Double Queen Direct Oceanfront Suite - Ocean Reef 1503 Sleeps 4! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
