Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Completely Renovated Ocean View King Suite! Perfect for 4 Guests! Sea Mist 51608 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
