Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Contemporary Beach House in Central MB has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
