Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by having your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Contemporary Beach House in Central MB has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
