Strategies for getting the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Cozy Double Queen Suite for 4! Landmark 1410 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
