Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Cozy\/Clean Ground Floor Surfside Beach Condo 1 Block walk to Beach Pet Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
