Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Davis Dunes 2BR Beachfront on Shore Drive w\/ Stunning Views, Pools & Golf! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
