Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Direct Ocean Front 1 Bedroom 2 Bathrooms Boardwalk Resort Unit 539 Sleeps 8 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
