How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 3rd Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Condo w\/ WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
