How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation rental:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Direct Oceanfront 1 Bedroom with Stunning Views! Caravelle 841 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
