Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Direct Oceanfront 1 Bedroom with Stunning Views! Caravelle 841 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
