Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Direct Oceanfront 1 Bedroom with Stunning Views! Caravelle 841 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
