Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Direct Oceanfront, Heated Indoor Pools, Remodeled! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
