How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to select the best rental home:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Direct Oceanfront Suite - Ocean Reef 803 - Sleeps 4! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
