Getting the best vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 2BR, View, Pools, Indoor Waterpark, Dunes Village! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
