Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Dunes Village Resort 2 Bedroom Angled Ocean Front Largest Indoor Water Par has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
