Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Embrace Luxury 3rd Flr 3BR Angle Ocean View Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
