How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Enchanting Oceanfront King Suite 6th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
