Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Enchanting Oceanfront King Suite 6th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
