Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Escape to the Ocean~ Oceanview Suite @CompassCove has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
