Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 11th-floor oceanfront condo with AC, washer\/dryer, pools, & hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
