Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Paradise Resort Unit 1611 - Oceanview has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
