Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Exquisite Ocean View-2003 Brighton-Amenity Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
