Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Fabulous Ocean Reef Resort has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
