Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Large Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
