How to find the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To get the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Fifth Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Condo w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
