Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Heron Pointe Unit D3 - Pool View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
