Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. A Shore Thing B208 at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
