Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. First Floor Ocean Front 1 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
