Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Five Star-Oceanfront-Exquisitely Decorated w\/ Lavish Upgrades-Just Redecorated! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
