Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Five Star-Oceanfront-Exquisitely Decorated w\/ Lavish Upgrades-Just Redecorated! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
