Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Seawatch Resort, Oceanfront 2 BR Condo with Large Balcony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
