Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Flamingo Hut at Ocean Lakes Campgrounds in Myrtle Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
