Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. *FLEXIBLE POLICIES* Beautiful Myrtle Beach Resort Condominium has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
