How to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Full condo with a million dollar view of the ocean- Sands Ocean Club has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If not, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
