Strategies to get the optimal vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Full condo with a million dollar view of the ocean- Sands Ocean Club has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
