Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Great ocean view - Palace 2005+ has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
