Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Full House with 2-Master Bed\/Bathrooms - 4-Bedrooms 3-Bathrooms has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
