Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Full House with 2-Master Bed\/Bathrooms - 4-Bedrooms 3-Bathrooms has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
