Vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Coastal Luxury: 4th Floor Oceanfront 4BR Condo has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
